4/26 Entrance piers, gates and railings to Whiteley Village
GV II
Railings, gates and entrance piers. Circa 1912. Brick piers with stone dressings iron railings and gates, c.80 feet long. 2 pairs of square brick piers with panelled sides and stone coping c10 feet high and 10 feet apart to ends. Iron gates between piers c9 feet high with rpundel decorative band and fillet and oval band to the base. Inner gate piers c15 feet high with stone band and projecting cornice above, 10 feet from the side piers and linking railings between. Main gate piers with flanking lower buttresses and crowning lanterns either side of paved segmental headed gates with decorative roundel band, cast iron cartouches and shields to centre.
