CLOPTON GRUNDISBURGH ROAD TM 25 SW (East Side) 8/20 Bridge Farmhouse 16/3/66 - II

House, formerly farmhouse. C16 or C17. Timber framed with colourwashed render and thatched roof. Single storey with attic. Entrance front: all C20 fenestration. Projecting wing at right which is blank at the gable end but has at its left flank a window of 3x3 panes and a 2-light gabled dormer window to the attic. The axial range at left of this has stucco render grooved in imitation of ashlar and has a near-central plank door which has 2-light casements at either side of it. To the mezzanine level at right is a 2-light casement set low in the wall and to the attic are two 2-light casements. The tympanum of the right hand gabled dormer bearing a date in relief C.F.1880 presumably referring to the building of the gable. Swept valley to the roof. To the ridge at left is a chimney stack of 3 flues. Right hand side: C20 lean-to outshut at right with a glazed door and 2- light window. To left of this a window of 3x2 panes and a 2-light casement at left. Rear: projecting wing at right with a 2-light and a 3-light ground floor casements and two first floor 2-light casements. Axial range at left of this has a ground floor lean-to, a 2-light window at left of this and a single-light to right with a 2-light and a single-light window to the first floor.
