Details

CHARSFIELD BOARDY GREEN TM 25 NE (East Side) 5/3 Windy Lea - - II House. C15. Timber framed with colourwashed render. C20 pantile roof. Two storeys with attic, originally an open-hall plan with 2-storey, solar wing. Entrance front: doorway at left of centre on the line of the former screens passage. C20 half-glazed door. To left of this a C20 two-light casement and at right a single-light casement. To right again is a projecting gabled bay window of 3-lights and to far right a further glazed 2-light window which may both be set in earlier window openings. To the ridge at right of centre is a chimney stack. The right hand gable end has a 2-light casement to the ground, first and attic floors and clapboard covering to the wall. Left hand gable end: similar. Rear: masked at ground floor level at left by C20 outshut and C20 conservatory at right with 2 doorways. First floor has two 2-light casements and a single-light casement. Interior: wooden panelled screen to one side of the screens passage with moulded muntins and cross rails. Two 4-centered arched doorways, leading to service rooms, which have lost their dividing wall. Inserted floor to hall which has cut back wall posts to accommodate the broach-stopped chamfered beam. Joists with run-out end stops. Two trusses to the first floor with arched braces and cambered ties. Attic: soot-blackened common rafters with collars
