CHARSFIELD HALL ROAD TM 25 NW (South Side) 4/6 Park Farmhouse 16/3/66 - II

House. C16 with C17 addition. Timber framed with colourwashed render and plain tile roof, originally thatched. Two storeys with attic. T-shaped plan. Entrance front: on the C17 cross-stroke of the T. Refaced in the early C19. Ground floor porch at left of centre with ½-glazed door which originally had a shallow-pitched roof which has now been reduced. Two sash windows to right of this of 3 x 4 panes and a similar window at left. Two lateral similar first floor windows and a central arched window above the porch. C17 chimney stack to the centre of the ridge with square base and central recessed panel and moulded top course with sawtooth sides to the flues. Left hand side: stucco grooved in imitation of ashlar to this front. Projecting wing at right which has, at ground and first floor level, sashes of 3 x 4 panes. To the attic is a 3-light C19 casement. To left of this is a ground floor door at left of centre with a 2-light and a 3-light window and to the first floor two 2-light casements. C16 window at far left of 4 lights with diamond-section mullions. Right hand side: sash windows of 3 x 4 panes to ground floor centre and first floor at right. To ground floor at right of this is a 3-light window with diamond-section mullions. To right of this in the angle between the C16 and C17 ranges are two outshuts, one a lean-to and the other gabled. Rear: ground floor outshuts at left and to right a projecting wing which has a 3-light casement at ground floor level and a 2-light casement to first floor at left. Interior: C17 range: 2-cell baffle-entry with winder staircase rising from the entrance lobby. Ceiling beams to both ground floor rooms having ovolo- moulded corners with bar and lamb's tongue end stops. Joists with runouts to the room. Further ovolo-moulded beam to one first floor room with runout end stop and close-studded walling with reversed bracing. Chamfered ceiling beams to the rear wing.
