Details

CHARSFIELD HALL ROAD TM 25 NW 4/8 Well Farmhouse - - II

House, formerly farmhouse. C17 with later additions. Timber framed with colourwashed render and a pantile roof, originally thatched. Two storeys and 1 1/2 storeys. Drive front: C19 and C20 fenestration, projecting 2-storey gabled cross-wing at left with a 3-light window at ground floor level and a 3-light and single light first floor windows. To right at ground floor level are two 3-light, one 2-light and one 4-light ground floor casements and to right is a gabled porch with a plank door and moulded muntins. To the first are two raking dormer windows, one of 2 and one of 3 lights. Ridge level at right lower than that at left. Above the right hand walling is a chimney-stack to left of centre and to the left hand protion is a chimney stack at right of centre. Right hand gable end: 3-light ground floor and first floor windows. Left hand gable end: two 3-light ground floor casements and a first floor casement at left. Rear: numerous additions including an C18 gabled projecting wing at left a 2-storey , flat-roofed addition at right and a lean-to service wing at far right.
