Former farmhouse, marked on map as Dairy Farm, now a cottage attached to
Framlingham Hall. Circa 1600. 2 storeys and attics. Timber-framed and
rendered; double Roman tiles. 2-cell lobby-entrance plan. The internal
chimney-stack has a plain rebuilt red brick shaft. Various 3-light casement
windows, 2 of them old, with transomes and pintle hinges. The present entry
is into a C20 porch to the right side of the front. All framing, in 5 bays,
exposed inside: studding with reversed braces, plain joists set flat,
chamfered main beams. Several blocked original windows, but no evidence for
the type of mullions. The roof, in 5 bays to correspond to wall bays, with
one row of clasped, and one row of unstepped butt-purlins, windbraces and
diminished principals.
