Farmhouse. Rear range C16 or earlier, extended in C18; front range C17, in 2
phases, with an early C19 facade. L shape plan. Timber framed and plastered,
the main facade lined in imitation of ashlar; exposed framing to north side of
rear wing; roof of modern plaintiles. 2 storeys with attics to the front
range. 4 windows, 2-light and 3-light mullion and transom casements; doorway
with inset C19 panelled door, plain semi-circular fanlight with hoodmould and
fluted pilasters. To the rear of this range is a C17 ovolo-moulded door frame
incorporating a rectangular fanlight; the door is C19 and the fanlight is
filled by a later window with square-leaded glass. Hipped roof. The earlier
part of the front range (to the right) has a heavy internal stack, the later
part a smaller stack, also internal. Interior somewhat altered in C19 and
C20. The front range has ovolo-moulded floorbeams with barred stops: a
floorbeam at the left hand end has an indented triangle incorporating a Fleur-
de-lys motif carved on the soffit at either end. The earlier part of this
range has good exposed framing at first floor level, with some original doors
and floorboarding. The framing is also exposed on the first floor of the rear
range.
