Farmhouse. Early-mid C17. A fragment of a large house in red brick, comprising one side of the former east wing and a small part of one bay of the recessed centre. Part brick, part timber framed and plastered; to the north is a small area of exposed timbering with brick nogging; plaintiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. The surviving wing has 2 bays separated by giant brick pilasters, with moulded brick ornament about mid way up on the ground floor; moulded brick band at first floor level; the quoin has rusticated brickwork, the first floor to a convex bulging design; the gable end to the wing is not the original. The surviving part of the centre range has one similar brick pilaster. Brick parapet gable ends, one with 4-panel door (the upper 2 panels glazed) and simple brick porch. Mid C20 casement windows. To the north is an external stack with one octagonal flue with moulded base. Attached to the north east the former stables, brick with hipped roof, now altered and converted to residential use. One of the earliest known examples of giant brick pilasters in the country.
