II
Methodist chapel. 1822, enlarged 1835 (according to White's Directory 1844); dated on facade 'Wesleyan Chapel 1835', the datestone presumably a later insertion in what is evidently the original part of the building. Small flint pebbles, red brick dressings, pantiled roof. 2 storeys. 3 bays long; 2 bays with casement windows, large panes to ground floor, small panes to first floor, segmental arches; south bay (the later addition) with small pane sash windows in flush frames. The facade has 2 doorways each with original 4-panel door, moulded panels; rear gable with 2 pointed casement windows with Y tracery (one partly blocked by later extension); bargeboards with spike finial. Good unaltered interior with gallery on 3 sides on round timber columns, pine benches and pulpit.
