Details
BREDFIELD CATERS ROAD TM 25 SE (South side) 3/37 Lords Waste GV II House. Mid C18 with extensive C20 additions. Timber framed, rendered and colour washed with a plain tile roof (probably originally thatched). Single storey with attics. Baffle-entry T-shaped plan. Single storey with attic. Entrance front: C20 doorway at right of centre which is 1/2-glazed. To right of this are two 2-light casements and at left are three 2-light casements of varying sizes but all of C20 date. To the attic are three C20 gabled dormer windows, each of 2 lights. To the ridge is an axial stack at right of centre above the doorway and immediately to left of this is a hipped portion of the rear wing. To far left is a C20 lean-to brick addition above which is a single-flue chimney-stack. Rear: entirely masked by C20 additions. Central projecting 2-storey gabled wing with outshuts to the ground floor level with two C20 windows and two single-light C20 casement windows to the first floor above this and a weather vane to the apex of the gable. To right of this is a recessed 2-storey portion with flat roof and to left a similar portion, each being of one bay and that at left having the present front door which has 2 recessed panels.
Interior: Exposed studding and chamfered ceiling beams to the ground floor. Further exposed studding and cambered tie beams to the first floor, all being slender, rough timbers.
