House 30 yards west
GV II of Church)
Former farmhouse. Dated 'JB' over 1804 on a small recessed panel high on the
south gable. 2 storeys. Red brick to front and sides, knapped flint to rear;
thatched roof, with decorated ridge; wooden modillion cornice. Tumbled gables
with high, plain copings incorporating chimney-stacks. 3 window range: late
C19 sashes with a single vertical bar to lights. Central Edwardian 4-panelled
door, with ornamental coloured glazing to upper lights, set in an older
surround: eared architrave, triangular pediment with dentils, and a frieze of
carved C15 cresting, probably taken from the church during C19 restoration.
An original curved stair inside with plain balusters and sinuous handrail.
