TL 97 SW HONINGTON IXWORTH ROAD (EAST SIDE)

3/73 Honington Hall - GV II

Former farmhouse. C18 and early C19: possibly older core. 2 storeys. Timber- framed and plastered, with traces of comb-patterned pargetting. Plaintiles to western slope of roof, black glazed pantiles to remainder. Main range aligned north-south, with the original front, facing west, now the garden front. One internal chimney stack and one stack at south end, both with plain shafts in white brick. Between these 2 stacks, 2 tripartite small-paned sash windows in flush frames flank a 6-panel door with early C19 trellis porch: 3 small-paned sash windows to upper storey. To the north of the internal stack, 2 similar sash windows, one to each storey, with a single-storey mid C19 brick extension beyond. At the rear, 2 matching parallel ranges, aligned east-west, were added in the early C19: 2 storeys, small-paned sash windows, ornamental barge-boards to gables.
