GV II
House. 1890s. Red brick with terracotta dressings and roughcast coved eaves and panels in gables. Clay plain tile roof with gabled ends, pierced ridge tiles and pierced ornate bargeboards.
Eclectic late Victorian style. PLAN: Double depth with entrance and stairhall on right and drawing room on left with dining room and service wing behind. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Asymmetrical 2-bay front. Projecting bay on left, bowed on ground floor with elliptical gauged brick window arches, panel tracery, shafts between and wooden bay above with pargetted panels and flanking brick pilasters; terracotta frieze over and half-glazed gable with wavey pierced bargeboards. Porch on right with wooden baluster columns, glazed doors and small wooden oriel above with pediment. Gabled dormer over the corner on moulded brick corbels, with ornate bargeboards with finials. The top lights of the windows have stained glass. INTERIOR not inspected. INCLUDING an elaborate cast-iron gate with cast-iron gate-piers with ball finials, in front of house.
