2. A C18 plastered front to an earlier timber-framed and plastered house with a cross wing at the east end. The front has a parapet with a modillion cornice. The gable to the crosswing is mansard, with C19 ornamental barge boards. 2 storeys and attics. 4 window range to the main block, double-hung sashes with single vertical glazing bars, in flush cased frames. The ground storey had a 3-light bay window at the west end and a C19 shop bay window with slender columns and a modillion cornice. The flanking windows have pilasters and cornices. The crosswing has casements and a C19 shop window with glazing bars on the ground storey. Roof tiled, mansard to the crosswing.
Church Cottages, Chinnerys and premises occupied by Chris Bolden & Co, George Hotel, Cosy Nook, Almore House, Corner Cottage, Mill occupied by A Kahn, Cavendish House, The Rectory, Premises occupied by W J Cutting, Spring View, Middle Cottage, Water View, Canford House and St Ronans form a group.
