ILKETSHALL ST. JOHN MANOR FARM ROAD TM 38 NE 2/19 - Manor Farmhouse - II Former farmhouse. Early C17. Timber-framed, encased in C19 red brick, with black glazed pantiled roof. Part 1½ storeys, part 2 storeys and attic; hall range and cross-wing. Various C19 and C20 casement windows; one gabled dormer. Entrance door with an early C20 triangular pediment, supported on heavy brackets. An internal chimney-stack with a plain shaft of Tudor brick. Both ranges are contemporary, with the chimney-stack linking them. Some framing exposed inside: main beams boxed-in, but some plain unchamfered joists uncovered; one fireplace has a plain timber lintel. The wallplate of the hall range has been cut, and an extension built on to house a stair, probably Edwardian. Part of the roof structure can be seen: both ranges have principal rafters and stepped butt purlins.
