3/100 Tudor Cottage
GV II
House. Late C15. Timber-framed and rendered; old plaintiles. 1½ storeys; 3- cell plan, formerly with an open hall, now with an internal chimney-stack. A plain shaft to the stack in old red brick. 2 dormers with 3-light C20 casement windows. 3 Edwardian projecting bays to the ground floor, 2 with 3- light casement windows and hipped roofs, one 2-light with conical roof. Interior of former hall area now divided up. Crown-post roof, with the crown- post embedded in a later partition wall: octagonal shaft, shaped base with triangle stops and a keeled ring above, moulded top surmounded by remains of embattling, 4-way bracing at head. Plain inserted ceiling to hall, chamfered main beam, unchamfered joists; a similar ceiling in the parlour, which has a reinstated open fireplace with new timber lintel. On the rear wall, a C18 3- light casement window with transome and square leaded panes, now enclosed by later rear extensions.
