Details
DEBENHAM ASPALL ROAD TM 16 SE 6/46 No.10 ( formerly listed 9/12/55 under Bridge Place as Premises immediately adjoining The Old Cooperage on SE side)
GV II
House. C16 or earlier. Timber framed and plastered with remains of lining to imitate ashlar. Left gable end has widely-spaced exposed studs. Pantiled roof. 2 storeys and attic. 2 3-light first floor casement windows with horizontal glazing bars. Ground floor has 2 4-paned sash windows adjacent to which are contemporary 6-panel doors. To extreme right a projecting former shop window: 10-paned front with cornice, above which is a display board with ramped top. Internal stack set just forward of roof ridge. Interior not examined. This house was one of two which survived a serious fire in this part of the village in 1744.
