TL 96 SW BEYTON THE GREEN 4/8 - Ellesmere House and Beyton Antiques

GV II Two houses and a shop, early C17. One storey and attics. 3-cell plan. Timber-framed and plastered: Beyton Antiques has C19 scratched imitation ashlarwork, Ellesmere House has C19 panels with herringbone pargetting (the lower panels are of mid C20). Concrete plaintiled roof with 4 flat headed dormers: one has a mid C19 sash, the others have C20 casements. Two axial chimneys: one has a rebuilt shaft of C19 gault brick, the other of C20 red brick. Mid C20 small-pane casements. Two shop windows and half-glazed panelled door, all of C20. Unmoulded C17 framing partially exposed. Two open trusses, one has a tiebeam with deep cranked archbrace. The whole building was once an Inn known as The Bull.
