Details

HOXNE GREEN STREET TM 17 NE 7/88 Elm House II House. C16 core, remodelled in early C19; extended to left in early C20. Older part timber framed and plastered with early C19 white brick facade. Wooden mutule eaves cornice, pedimented over entrance bay. Hipped roof of glazed black pantiles, continued over the later addition which is in red brick. 2 storeys. 5-bay facade, the centre section set slightly forward. Inset sash windows with glazing bars under flat brick arches. Original doorway with 6-panelled fielded door; three-quarter glazed side lights flanked by plain sunk pilasters; panelled reveals. Wide segmental fanlight with radiating glazing bars. 2-bay addition to left has mullion and transom casement windows, 3-light on ground floor, 2-light on first floor, the upper lights leaded. Moulded first floor string course; matching mutule eaves cornice. Internal stack set in front roof slope. Right hand gable end has various sash windows and 3 painted dummy windows.
