Details
DRINKSTONE DRINKSTONE GREEN, TL 95 NE RATTLESDEN ROAD 3/6 Kopsey Cottage - II GV House, C15 with C17 and later alterations. One storey and attics. 3-cell cross-entry plan. Timber-framed and plastered. Thatched roof, hipped at right hand end. Two recessed eyebrow dormers with C19 casements. An axial chimney of C18 red brick. C19/C20 small-pane casements. To left is a pantiled C19 lean-to extension: entrance door and pantiled gabled porch. Complete smoke-encrusted medieval coupled-rafter roof over the 2-bay hall, and over the storeyed cell to right. The cell to left was given a gabled clasped purlin roof in C17. The chimney was entirely rebuilt in C18. The open truss was removed from the open hall when an upper-floor was inserted in C17. Quite complete C15 wall framing.
