- II
Former farmhouse. Circa 1600 with major remodelling of C19 and early C20. 3- cell plan with parlour cross-wing. 2 storeys, the cross-wing with attics. Timber-framed: the hall range walling totally rebuilt C19 in colourwashed brick. The parlour was encased in c.1910 in gault brick with dressings of red brick. C19 casements in the main range, C20 sashes in the cross-wing with stone lintels: stone splayed bays with embattled parapets. Flat-roofed entrance porch with stone pediment and ball finials. The main range has good late C16 floor joists, slightly chamfered. Cambered tiebeams. Clasped purlin roof, the rafters reused from an earlier roof. The cross-wing has heavy unmoulded framing members and good wind-braced clasped purlin roof.
