1/180 Hall Farm Cottages -

Farmhouse, now 3 dwellings. Early to mid C17, possibly in 2 phases, altered and extended early C19. Timber frame, plastered. Steeply pitched plaintiled roofs. A large L on plan, each range 3 cells with a lobby entrance. 2 storeys and attic. Front range has an entrance to left of centre with a 6 raised panelled door recessed in an early C19 hooded architrave, to right of centre a second entrance in a C20 gabled porch. 3-light transomed leaded pane part opening casements in moulded frames with hoodboards. Continuous timber dentilled eaves cornice. Original axial ridge stack to left of centre, an inserted stack on front roof slope to right. Slightly shorter and lower return wing is gabled fronted with similar windows, 3 lights in attic. Return has entrance towards front with a 6 raised panelled architraved door, second entrance towards rear, behind first entrance is an axial ridge stack with 4 conjoined hexagonal shafts, moulded common base. To rear of front range an early C19 6 panelled door behind stack into a brick addition with cross casements which has a gabled wing to left extending further to rear. Interior: frame concealed and not inspected. Partly moated site.
