House, divided with part pertaining to another dwelling. C15, floor inserted,
stack and parlour bay added in C17, altered C19, extended and reroofed C20.
Timber frame, plastered. Thatched roof. Originally a small 2 bay open hall
with a storeyed service/solar bay, extended to form a 3 cell cross passage
plan. Now all 2 storeys. Entrance in cross passage position to left of
centre, 2 and 3-light C20 glazing bar casements, to right C19 3-light
casements with glazing bars on ground floor, leaded panes and a moulded frame
on first floor. Axial ridge stack to right between hall and parlour. Roof
half hipped to left end with a first floor 4-light diamond mullioned window.
To rear a C20 2 storey pantiled wing, an earlier pantiled lean-to behind
parlour bay. Interior: chamfered 4 centred arched door heads at front of
cross passage and into storeyed bay, hall has former oriel sill to front,
inserted stop chamfered cross axial binding beam and joists, arched braces to
tie beams with a crown post mortice to formerly open truss, reverse curved
bracing in storeyed bay, parlour bay not inspected.
