METFIELD THE STREET TM 28 SE 9/106 Street Farmhouse - 29.7.55 GV II

Farmhouse. Late C16/early C17 with mid C19 alterations. Timber framed: a mid C19 white brick facade with 4 pilaster stips, the remainder being largely plastered. Pantiled roof with glazed black tiles at the front. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows, C19 mullion and transom casements with large panes; flat stucco arches with raised keys. Central gabled porch with Ionic pilasters, pediment and an elliptical entrance arch; within the porch is a 6-panelled door (the upper 4 panels glazed) with a pediment above. White brick gable stack to right. Service wing to rear, altered following a fire in late C19. Victorianised interior with very little of the original structure visible.
