Details

RUSHALL A345 SU 15 NW 2/104 The Old House II House. C17, reconstructed late C17 (c1690) and early C19. Probably originally small cottage against road, with lobby entry building attached at right-angles now forming main elevation. Colourwashed brick with thatched roof. Two storeys, 4 bays. Entrance under thatched porch in third bay opposite stack. Nine- pane single hung tripartite sashes to first floor, C20 metal windows to ground floor. Kitchen extension to rear in late C17- early C18 outbuilding, and rear entrance in glazed corridor. Ovolo-moulded window at first floor level at rear. Interior: Chalkstone stack. Stair in centre bay of wing against road, c1820-40. Original roof of lower pitch enclosed within later roof, rafters smoke blackened. Chamfered spine beams on ground floor.
