MONKS KIRBY COVENTRY ROAD (West side) SP48SE Street Ashton 8/13 Lodge Farmhouse - II

Farmhouse. C17 with mid C19 rebuilding and alterations, and additions to left. Plastered timber framing. Main range extended and largely refaced or rebuilt in whitewashed brick. Old plain-tile roofs, hipped to main range; C19 brick ridge stacks. T-plan with cross wing on right. Main range of one storey and attic; 2-window range. Cross wing of 2 storeys; one-window range. Part-glazed 6-panelled door in angle has C19 painted wood pilaster strips and cornice. Left part has 2-light casement, early C19 three-light wood and iron casement, and half-glazed door, all with glazing bars and brick segmental arches. C20 bow window to right. Dormers have cross-glazed 3-light casements. Cross wing has 3-light casements with glazing bars. Lean-to against right return side. Interior: room in right part of main range has broad-chamfered beam. Room to left has partly moulded and partly broad-chamfered beam. Fielded 4-panelled doors.
