STRETTON ON DUNSMORE SP47SW 5/46 Limekiln Farmhouse
- II
Farmhouse. C18 with later additions and late C19 alterations. Flemish stretcher bond brick with dog-tooth cornice; additions have dentil cornice. Roof of old plain-tiles; brick left end and ridge stacks. Cross plan. 2 storeys and one storey and attic; 3 bays. Front to garden has C18 two-storey left range with string course. C20 wood mullioned and transomed 3-light window. 3-light casement above. Large projecting C18/C19 wing has large late C19 two-storey bay window with sham timber framing, rising into gable. 3-light chamfered wood mullioned windows, on ground floor full-length with transom. Left return side of wing has half-glazed fielded 4-panelled door and small sash, with 2-light casement above. Right range has 2-light ground-floor casement. Ground-floor openings throughout have brick segmental arches. Most windows have horizontal glazing bars. Left return side of main range has brick tumbling to gable. Rear has C20 cross window and 2-light casement above. Rear wing has addition to left. Plank door in angle. 4-light casement and 3-light eyebrow half-dormer above. Further single-storey range. Interior: room in main range noted as having open fireplace with cambered bressumer.
