Details
GRANDBOROUGH SAWBRIDGE ROAD SP46NE (East side) 6/81 The Shoulder of Mutton Public House II Public house. Early/mid C18. Roughcast brick with string course band to main range. Left range has timber framed gable. Old tile roofs; main range has gable parapet with kneelers; brick ridge and right end stacks. L-plan, with wing on left to rear. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Main range, formerly of 4 bays, with third bay blocked. C20 door between first and second bays. Ground floor has C19 and C20 cross windows with horizontal glazing bar. All openings have painted stone flat arches with keystones. First floor has C20 cross windows. Lower left range has altered C19 three-light casement; painted cambered arch with keystone. C20 three-light casement above. To rear: further single-storey wing, probably formerly an outbuilding, of timber framing with brick infill, C19 and C20 brick and some stone. Corrugated iron roof.
