2. With No 2 (Tower View). CASTLE LANE. Two dwellings one building. C18 2 storeys plus attic 6 window red brick facade. Metal casements with rectangular leaded lights in transomed and mullioned wood frames. One of central bays blocked up. Stone lintels with keybiocks. Stone cills. Moulded stone cornice, brick pilasters at quoins with stone rustications. 6 panel door. Doorcase plain. 3 restored gabled dormers in roof of old tiles. South elevation (to Castle Lane) rendered in modern cement, has earlier C19 doorway with 6 panel door, rectangular fanlight both in reveal, surround of slender pilasters, entablature lath cornice hood.
Nos 22 and 24 Castle Street, and No 2 Castle Lane form a group.
