Cottage, post office and shop, formerly cottage and forge. C17/early C18;
altered late C20. Cottage of rendered brick with painted sham framing. Former
forge range to right is timber framed with whitewashed brick infill. Late C20
tile roofs; rendered left end and brick ridge stacks. 2-unit plan, with one-unit
forge range. 2 storeys and one storey and attic; 3-window range. C20 part-glazed
plank door and open porch. C20 leaded casements throughout, of 3 lights to
ground floor, on left with segmental arch, and 2 lights above. Forge range has
dormer. C20 shop attached at right angles on right. Interior: ogee
stop-chamfered ceiling beams. Open fireplace. 3-plant: doors, one with old latch.
Stud partition on first floor. Forge retains hearth.
