Details
MARKET LAVINGTON HIGH STREET SU 0054-0154 (north side) 12/146 No 79 (Wolesley House) 19.3.62 II House. Early-mid C18. Stone, faced in brick, with tiled roof. Two storeys, attic and cellars, 5 bays. Through hall plan with service wing on right, the re-entrant angle infilled, C20. Six- panelled door, the upper panels glazed with shell hood reset in this position. Twelve-paned sashes, not quite symmetrical. Valence fascia board and two early C20 gabled dormers. One flush dormer to rear and kitchen wing with two small gables. Interior has good C18 stair with turned balusters. Chamfered ceiling beams, that to left sitting room deeply chamfered, and cross beam to kitchen wing with bar stops. C18 cupboards either side of angled fireplace in kitchen. Roof of four bays, principal rafter and collar trusses with butt purlins and threaded diagonal ridge. Stone cellar under right bay leading to segmental vaulted wine vault to rear.
