Row of C17 or early C18 gabled houses, with stone-tiled roofs and eaves
projecting between gables. Windows under wood lintels generally 2-light
wood casements with glazing bars, but some are leaded. Some sash windows.
One house (No 58) with projecting wooden bay on ground floor carried
on wood brackets. Houses are 2 storey - attics and each has a plain square-headed
door opening to side of frontage. Weathered strings at 1st floor and
2nd floor levels and at base of gable pediments. Blocked oval "bulls-eyes"
in most gables. No 53 differs from remainder in being of lower elevation
and in having a central doorway and central gable with 2-light leaded
wooden casement. Other windows are 3-light casements on 1st floor and
4-light casements on ground floor all with moulded stone mullions and
dripmoulds. Grade II* for group value.

Nos 52 to No 62 and 62B (consec) form a group.
