Details
TM 14 SW COPDOCK LONDON ROAD 2/20 22.2.55 Copdock Lodge II House. Possibly C17 core, encased C18, extended C19 and C20, refurbished 1901. Red brick, possibly encasing timber frame, plaintile roofs. External brick gable end stacks. 2 storeys attics and cellar. Formerly symmetrical facade of 5 uneven bays. Brick band. Coved cornice with modillions. 5 first floor sashes with glazing bars in flush frames, beneath flat arches. Central door with moulded architrave and flat canopy on brackets. C20 part-glazed door. To left, long 11-light diamond leaded casement beneath moulded brick hoodmould. To right taller 5-light square-paned casement beneath painted hood mould. 3 C18 dormers with 2-light casements. C19 rear wings replaced former catslide. Interior. C18 dog leg stair, with turned balusters, 2 per tread, scrolled tread ends, moulded oak rail, turned newels. C16 style panelling, beams and cornices of early C20.
