TM 1938 WOOLVERSTONE WOOLVERSTONE PARK 7/47 Balustraded retaining wall with gateways, steps and - ha-has to rear of Woolverstone Hall GV II Retaining wall with gates and ha-has. 1850s by W A Nesfield for Berners family. Artificial stone and brick with cast and wrought iron gates. Rusticated ha-has from 1-2 metres in height. Rusticated walls surmounted by balustrades. Opposed gateways have corniced piers with banded ball finials. Central gates flanked by railings with fleur-de-lys bars and spearhead dogbars. Gates with central oval and scrollwork. Forms part of garden layout illustrated in Gardeners Chronicle 16.2.1867 p158.
