HIGHAM HIGHAM ROAD TM 03 NW (south side) 3/6 The Old Vicarage 26.1.67 II House. C16 with C19-C20 alterations and additions. Timber-framed, rendered in part. Later sections rendered. Slate roof. C16 front range with rear cross wing forming L-plan, with further range at left parallel with road extended in C20. C19 range to right. 2 storeys. Front range: close studding with arched down braces, jettied 1st floor. Small lights between studs ground floor, two 3-light mullion windows with small side lights to 1st floor, that to left with cusped tracery head. Ridge stack to right. C19 addition recessed at right, board door in architrave, wood mullion windows with leaded lights, hipped roof, 3-bay right return. Present entrance to rear cross wing in angle with range parallel to road, C20 door in C19 doorcase with flat hood on consoles. Wooden mullion windows with leaded lights throughout. Interior: staircase to C19 range of C18 type with carved tread ends, 2 column-on-vase balusters with square knops per tread, column newels and ramped handrail.
