Original use, not known, now shop with accommodation above. Medieval, altered in circa C17 and remodelled and extended in circa Mid C19. Timber-frame faced in painted Flemish bond brick. Plain tile roof with brick parapet gable ends; pantile at rear. Truncated brick gable end stack.
Approximately square on plan, 2½ bays, possibly part of a larger medieval building which appears to have been altered in C17. In circa mid C19 it was encased in brick and a two-storey outshut was added at the back.
Two storeys and attic. Two-window south front. C19 four-pane sashes on first floor and circa mid C19 pilastered shop front on ground floor with entablature and later canopy box above. Doorway on left to first floor accommodation. Large circa early C20 gabled dormer. Rear elevation has C19 twelve-pane sash on ground floor and C20 casements above.
Interior: Ground floor has chamfered cross-beam and chamfered beams against right hand (east) wall stepped hollow stops. On first floor chamfered tie-beams visible jowled wall post at front with short curved brace and long shallow curved brace at rear. Coupled rafter roof, truncated above halved and nailed collars; later principal rafters with halved and pegged collars and clasped side purlins. Wind-braces at front. The original common rafters may be smoke-blackened.
