Two shops with storerooms above, formerly The Cock Inn. C16 with alterations
of several periods. Timber-framed and rendered. Plaintiled roofs with
modillioned eaves and axial chimneys of gault brick. Small-pane sash windows
to upper floor. C20 shop-fronts with glazed entrance doors. A C16 carriage
entrance passes between the two shops; the jettied upper floor originally
continued to left, and possibly to right. A rear wing was added late C16 to
no. 32, possibly with one long room on each of 2 floors; good clasped purlin
roof which reuses a number of soot-blackened medieval rafters. Major C19
alterations and extensions.
