TL 67 NE MILDENHALL ST. JOHNS STREET, BECK ROW
5/79 Beck House (Formerly listed under 7.5.54 Beck Row) - II
House, late C16 or early C17, with extension to left of early C19. 1 storey with attics; the extension of 2 storeys. Timber-framed and rendered. Pantiled roof with gable and axial chimneys of gault and red brick; gabled casement dormers with carved bargeboards. C19 sash windows, some with small panes and hinged louvred shutters. Early C19 6 panelled entrance door with entablature and fluted pilasters. The house was originally of 3-cell lobby-entrance type; in the C19 the parlour cell was replaced by a 2-window wide extension. In a partition are several rib-moulded mullions and in the roof some soot-blackened rafters, both having been reused from a C15 or early C16 house.
