4/6 Barton Hall - - II

Autistic Community, formerly house. Mid C18, with C19 and early C20 alterations. 2 storeys and attics. East garden front: 7 windows. Stuccoed brick with flat pilasters, parapet gables, and parapets with moulded cornice of early C19. Glazed pantiled roof with segmental-headed casement dormers and rear chimneys of red brick. C19 sash windows, those at ground floor with C20 small-pane sashes and those at first floor with C19 large panes. Early C19 entrance doorway with simple moulded architrave, fielded panelled reveals and recessed semi-circular fanlight with decorative glazing bars; C20 panelled door. In the entrance hall is a staircase with moulded handrail, probably of C18; the balustrading covered by C20 boarding. In several rooms are dado panelling and other joinery and plaster cornices of C18 and early C19.
