House. Formerly the racehorse trainer's house for Albert House Stables, Moulton Road (qv) adjoining at rear of house. Mid C18 with early C19 additions and alterations. Red brick with white tuck pointing, rendered gable wall at east end, rendered brick addition at west end, end-gabled slate roofed dormers, brick ridge-end stacks. PLAN: originally a double-depth, three-unit block; in early C19 a fourth unit added at west end extends as wing at rear; a single storey, lean-to addition against east gable-end wall. EXTERIOR: two storeys and attic. Front of mid C18 block symmetrical; on the ground floor a central doorway with early C19 reeded architraves, flat canopy on brackets, six-panel door with upper panels glazed, and rectangular fanlight; to either side of doorway a sash with glazing bars (3 x 4 panes); on first floor threes similar sashes; all the sashes in openings with flat-arched, gauged brick heads; two roof dormers with sashes with glazing bars (3 x 3 panes). To left, the front of the early C19 rendered extension on the ground floor has doorway to right with C20 glazed door and overlight and to left a sash with glazing bars; on the first floor a single sash with glazing bars (3 x 4 panes). At rear of house on both floors sashes with glazing bars. INTERIOR: not inspected.
