LEEKFRITH C.P. - SJ 96 SE 5/101 Marsh Farmhouse and - attached outbuildings
- II
Farmhouse and attached outbuildings. Possibly early C18 with mid-C19 alterations and additions, dated 1840 to outbuildings. Coursed rubble; blue machine tile roof; end stack to left. House and outbuildings in single range. 2-storey, 2-window house to left with small 2-light windows, casement in chamfered reveals, 3-lights to left; boarded door set to extreme left; staggered butt joint to right end of house marking start of outbuildings; single 2-light window set to left of first floor over mullioned and transomed 4-light window possibly set in a former doorway; blocked, segmental-arch cart entry to centre, now with C20 window, datestone over "J.M. 1840". Stable to right end with small window to right of boarded door. Evidence of rebuilding clearer on rear front where raised eaves are most obvious. Interior: chamfered beam in house-place.
