10/29 Goats Lodge 10/1/53 (formerly listed as Goats Lodge, Bromley Park) - II
(Shown on O.S. map as "Woodmans Cottage"). Lodge. 1839 with mid C20 alterations and additions. By Trubshaw. Close studded timber frame pastiche to brick with chisel dressed ashlar plinth and dressings; overhanging plain tile roofs with elaborate shaped fretted barge boards and finials. 2-cell cottage with porch to west and extension to east. Range of one storey and attic to left, 2-storey gabled porch to right with first floor string course decorated by a row of carved goats heads; roughly 1:1 bays; moulded Tudor arched porch opening leading to iron- studded door with decorative wrought iron false hinges; ovolo-moulded mullion windows, one to ground floor left of 4 lights, one to gabled attic dormer above of 2 lights, single-light window to ground floor centre, 3-light window to first floor of porch with coat of arms above; octagonal shafted ridge stack to left of centre with carved downard pointing arrows to each corner and carved deers heads to corners of the moulded caps. South gable has bracketed attic jetty; ground floor 6- light mullioned and transomed window containing casements with decorative cast iron glazing bars; single-light attic window. A lodge at the entrance to Bagot's Park.
