Laburnum Cottage

(Formerly listed under MAIN STREET)

Cottage. C16 and late C18. Timber-framed and red brick partially rendered and painted. Plain tile roofs, with a single gable and two ridge stack. L-plan. Three bay with projecting rear timber framed wing. Street front has off centre doorway with panel door wooden surround and small gabled hood. Either side are single two light glazing bar casements to the right another similar window, all these windows have segmental heads. Above three gabled dormer windows also with similar windows. The north gable is timber framed. The rear wing is the final bay of the original three bay cottage with gable-end onto the street. The ground floor wall is rendered with a small two light casement and a plank door.

INTERIOR. Most of the original frame survived with large chamfered beams and exposed stud positions, plus contemporary plank door and an inglenook fireplace.
