STONE RURAL MEAFORD ROAD 1. 5373 Meaford Former stables to Meaford Hall SJ 83 NE 5/9

II 2. Dated 1865. Ranged around 3 sides of a courtyard. Red brick with stone dressings; one storey plus attics. Central block has gabled gatehouse at centre with carriage arch, clock and wind vane; gabled dormers breaking above eaves; casement windows and doorways to ground storey in stone keyed surrounds; stone quoins to all angles; sprocket eaves; fish-scale tiles. Two circular tablets, one inscribed with above date and recording that the stables were erected on the site of the old ones by the Rt Hon George Cecil Weld Forester.
