1849-50. Disused. Jacobean style station. Red brick with diapering of blue brick,
and stone dressings; 2 storeys; T-shaped on plan; stone-coped shaped gabled ends
to wings, with kneelers and obelisk finials. Central projecting bay has a porte-
cochére provided for the Second Earl of Harrowby,with a semi-circular headed archway
on each of the 3 sides and an inner subsidiary arch on each return side; moulded
stone stringcourse at first floor; stone mullioned windows in moulded architraves;
doorways with cambered heads in moulded stone surrounds; plain eaves; ornamental
tiles. Single storey wing on west side.
