FOREST AND FRITH B6277 (North side) NY73NE 1/37 Milestone 200 metres east of Wad Hazel Sike II Milestone. Probably c. 1830 for London Lead Company. Painted ashlar slab c. 0.9 metre high with round top. ALSTON 10 MIDDLETON 12 painted in black Roman capitals on front, O.S. bench mark incised below. The road was engineered by J.L. McAdam.
