House. Probably late C16 with later alterations and additions. Sandstone ashlar and timber frame, the latter partly faced in brick and roughcast; plain tile roof; brick ridge stack. Lobby-entry plan.C16 single-cell hall range aligned north-east/south-west and flanking C17 single-cell crosswings aligned north-west/south-east. Two storeys; 1:2:1 bays, central hall range and gabled crosswings to left and right with a slightly lower ridge.
Hall range: ashlar; chamfer mullioned windows, that to ground floor left has five lights and a hood mould, that to first floor left has six lights, blocked two-light window to first floor right; door to right with segmental pointed head and ovolo-moulded surround.
Left hand wing: roughcast; first floor band and C20 casements.
Right hand wing: Timber framed, square panels and short straight braces; C20 casements.
Interior: two large open sandstone fireplaces with timber bresummers; widely chamfered and stopped ceiling beams; heavily jowelled corner posts; roof trusses consist of tie beam and cambered collar with one pair of purlins and a ridge piece.
