Early C17 house. Flint with partly plastered front and brick end walls. Steep
pantile roof with Dutch gable ends; 2 storeys and attic. Six windows, mainly
restored sashes without glazing bars in moulded architraves. Right of centre
a C17 5-light stone window with ovolo moulded mullions and transom in moulded
architrave. Left of centre a late C19 splayed bay of sashes without glazing
bars. Central C18/19 flush panelled door in moulded doorcase with porch with
entablature on slim columns and sloping roof. Three brick chimney stacks along
ridge. Staircase tower at centre of rear (west), 2-storeyed with Dutch gable,
with later lean-to at side. Stair tower contains good C17 staircase: dog-leg
type with moulded string, heavy turned balusters and square newels with moulded
finials and moulded hand rail. Ground floor rooms with chamfered beams and ovolo
moulded beam. Lofty ground floor room at north end with early C18 modillion
cornice.
