History
North Walsham is a medieval market town that grew wealthy from the trade of wool and cloth. The town was largely rebuilt following a fire in 1600 but remained a significant market centre into the Industrial Revolution.
The building at Number 15 is likely C18 in origin and is located on Market Place, one of the earliest roads developed in North Walsham. The building was described as ‘cottages’ in the 1842 Tithe apportionment. The building shows multiple phases of development, and a corner shopfront was introduced in the C19.
