GV II
Butchers shop, slaughter house and flat. C16 or earlier, timber framed and plastered with gabled slate roof over the frontage block. This has an ashlared first floor with 4 double hung sash windows with moulded surrounds and margin glazing bars. The ground floor has full length canopy on wrought iron brackets over canted bay window with double hung sashes, early C19 doorcase with 2 diamonds on the frieze and a shopfront of 3 light cross glazing barred windows either side of a simple door. Beyond this is a carriageway with gates and lattice ventilators over. To the E is a single double hung sash with moulded surround and small panes and a pilaster. The carriage arch is expressed as a crosswing, with peg tiles, at rear with a cast iron leaded light casement in the north wall. The main block has a continuous, peg tiled, roof slope down to first floor level and a 2 storey block with gabled peg tile roof at right angles to the rear with gable end stack. Beyond this a single storey probable kitchen block with peg tile roof and peg tile gabled brick building with loft access door. Pantile roofed pens and outbuildings complete a rear courtyard. Interior reveals C16 or earlier crosswing at E end and 2 storey similarly constructed block adjacent. W end block of 2 storeys of likely C17 date.
